The Student Hotel is no stranger to our home base with hotels in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and four other cities. This could very well be the fastest expanding hotel chain right now. And you might’ve guessed it, they’re adding a new city.
The Student Hotel has added Florence to the list of hotels bookable. After a renovation of € 50 million, TSH Lavagnini is breathing new life into a ‘forgotten’ neighborhood in Florence. The 390-room hotel with an area of 20.000 square meters, built in 1864, was originally intended for diplomats. Today it is the creative Go To Hub where work meets life.
The playful design awakens the historic palazzo, also called the Sleepy Palace by the locals. The classic architecture is laced with modern twists, such as a super-sized graffiti installation in the central courtyard, a ‘The Beach is Boring’ swimming pool on the rooftop of the building, a sky bar and two terraces with breathtaking views of Florence, the Duomo, and the Tuscan hills.
TSH Florence Lavagnini is located at the opposite of Fortezza da Basso, a lively park, a cultural and trade center and is just a five-minute bike ride from the Duomo and the city center. A new open tram line will soon connect the hotel with both the airport and the train station.
