For Mercer’s F/W ’18 collection they went back to the 3 pillars Mercer Amsterdam stands for; International, Independent and Street Luxury. Whilst designing this collection they kept these in mind, the foundations of the brand.
The three pillars
International: All of Mercer Amsterdam’s products breathe an international metropolitan style, NYC chic meets Amsterdam street. Our products are heavily inspired by the two cities which they call their home. Besides Mercer as a company, their customers are also internationally oriented, outgoing, with a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
Independent: Mercer Amsterdam stands for independence. The brand tries to be different from others by producing different silhouettes in different materials, and not following the rules or let anyone tell them what to do. The production process is also independent, all of the products are handmade in family-owned small-scale factories. The brand does not believe in mass production by big corporations. Lastly, their customers are independent as well, they do not follow the rules, they want to be different and differentiate themselves from the masses.
Street Luxury: All of the products are a combination of streetwear meets luxury, NYC meets Amsterdam. The materials used are high-grade luxury leather skins, linings and rubber soles, while the silhouettes are inspired and influenced by streetwear. The products can be worn with ripped jeans, tracksuits or an actual suit – casual, smart or smart casual. But when it comes to the materials used, it’s always high-end luxurious and high quality with perfect finishing.
