Vans launch a collection with Disney to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Disney’s most beloved character, Mickey Mouse. Decades of iconic Mickey Mouse images have been brought together by Vans designers on an extensive collection of shoes, clothing and accessories. The collection is based on 11 designs that show the evolution of Mickey Mouse, from the late 20s of the last century to the present.
To commemorate the film debut of Mickey Mouse in 1928, the Sk8-Hi has been remastered with iconic scenes from the black and white silent film Plane Crazy. Each quarter panel shows a film scene and is finished with a 3-D logo on the heels.
The animated film Fantasia in the 1940s brought Mickey Mouse’s mischievous character to light as ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’. Inspired by the sorcerer’s hat, the Sk8-Hi is transformed into a velvet shoe, decorated with a sky moon and star embroidery, complemented by blue suede panels and contrasting yellow stitching. The Sorrenters Apprentice-inspired Sk8-Hi is finished with a black sole, star printed laces and a Sorcerer’s Apprentice logo on the heel. In addition to the collection, there is also a T-shirt with Fantasia theme and a backpack with tie-dye print and a Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse.
