The new Rains Store Utrecht opened today and nestled itself into the trendy/shopping Choorstraat near the famous Dom in Utrecht. The new store has been designed by Rains to honor the brand’s minimalistic aesthetic, whilst respectfully acknowledging the original architectural details of the building.
The building was built in 1906 by architects Staal and Kropholler. The façade features polished pink granite cascading upwards to Moorish style arches, a feature that drew the brand to the vacant storefront. The interior presents a mix of natural and manmade materials, including Birchwood and ribbed acrylic panels that speak the Danish brand’s Scandinavian aesthetic.
Positioned in the middle of Holland, Utrecht presents itself as a shopping hub for Dutch residents around the country, as well as international tourists from around the world. The new Rains Store Utrecht follows the brand’s first Dutch store in Amsterdam on Haarlemmerstraat.
The Utrecht store will carry the full line of Rains waterproof outerwear, bags and accessories, as well as limited edition collections and special collaborations. Rains opened doors to the public today so go and have a look.
