A long-awaited project is finally here. Dutch artist Joshua J releases his new album ‘1998’.
After the Dutch artist and producer Joshua J was tipped by dr. Dre, with his single ‘Lock My Door’ he appeared in the international spotlight. Joshua J made sure to keep us entertained and dropped two absolutely great tracks after named ‘Let Go’ and ‘ Cold Wine’. But the work didn’t stop there, he went on to opening up for various artist. As a matter of fact, he is the chosen one to take care of the aftershow of Anderson Paak tomorrow in AFAS Live.
The 20-year-old artist dubbed the album ‘1998’ in reference to his birth year. Music was an outlet for Joshua at a young age. At the age of 6 he started playing the piano and from the age of 12 he started producing and DJing, with which he won the DJ Clash. Meanwhile, he is involved in all expressions concerning his music – he largely produces his tracks himself and is involved in the creative process of the video clips and the artwork. In a time where artist mention ‘owning the masters to their records’, Joshua J is no stranger to that. The entire album is released under his own label CMP Records. Does he do boss moves? Yes Sir.
In 16 tracks, Joshua J tells more about his youth, which he spent in a foster family. The songs ‘Let Go’ and ‘Cold Wine’ are also part of this body of work. Joshua J’s ‘1998’ is now available on all streaming platforms.
